October 2013

This might be my most favorite month! So much going on! I love that the weather is cooling down and the leaves are changing color! Plus the twins celebrated big birthday #3!!

We ended September with me doing the Spartan Race. I had no idea what I was getting myself into - but it was a challenging and fun day! Here is a picture of me at the end!!

This picture was actually on the Phl 17 webpage! I am so serious!!!

The following weekend I had Amy's bachelorette party in Atlantic City. We had a great girls night out.

That week we celebrated Jack & Ellie turning 3! We had a great day on their actual birthday! We went to the doctor for their 3 year old checkup- both are doing so well!!! The doctor told us that Jack should be around 6 feet tall, and Ellie @5'5 or so. Of course he said its just an estimate but from how they are growing that seems to be the prediction.  We then went to the NICU at Virtua to visit the nurses and doctors that took such great care of the kids for so long. It was a great visit! After that we headed to Dr. Manera's office for a visit. It was so nice for us to see him and his staff and for him to finally meet Jack & Ellie.

The kids enjoying their birthday presents!

We went to Indian Acres for a birthday party and the kids went pumpkin picking and horseback riding. It was such a fun day spent with lots of new friends from school.   I was able to meet the other parents and meet some of the kids Jack & Ellie talk about everyday.   The kids had a great time!

We had a very small Peter Pan & Tinklerbell party! A little preview to Halloween! The kids are so into Jake and the Neverland pirates and Peter Pan that it was so much fun!!!  Plus the weather was nice and all the kids play so well together!

Patrick & I wore the same sweater! My twin for the day!
Baby Julia looks bigger than Ellie!!

The same day as their party I ran my first 1/2 marathon.  I did much better than I expected. I finished at  1:48.  It is crazy to think I was running for almost 2 hours! And yes that is a beer in my hand at 10:00a.m.!!!

This is the only picture I will share from the event- I am not a pretty runner!!!

This past weekend I ran in the St Joan of Arc 5k and came in 3rd for my age group. My fastest 5k yet- 23:08 finish.  I ran with my brother-in-law Brad- his first race ever! Our next run will be the Bridge Run in a few weeks.

We saw Patrick's soccer game this weekend. The kids wanted to play so bad. They kept asking if they could play.  Hopefully this means next year when I sign them up they will want to play!!

Jack has been doing so well with his glasses. We follow up Wednesday with his eye doctor.  He seems to be looking over the glasses as opposed to using the glasses- but he leaves them on all day and rarely complains.  So not really sure what more we can do.  Hoping for a good report on Wednesday.

We are doing swimming on Sunday through Tom Wilkinson's learn to swim program. The kids are really doing well! They love the water!

We still have Halloween coming up this month on top of a lot of other fun things planned! The kids are really turning into little kids right before our eyes. We enjoy having dinner with them every night and hearing all about their day! It is really the cutest thing!

Looking forward to more fun times ahead!
