January 2013

So what are the chances I will be able to post every month this year? That will be my challenge. I take so many pictures and do so many fun things with the kids that it should be easy- and lord knows I am always on my Ipad- so I can do this! (That is what I say in January, my very first post in the challenge).

Jack had his first haircut at a kids place over the weekend. We are spoiled in that my Aunt Sally usually does it. Speaking of which I will post a picture below of her son Pat, my cousin, who looks exactly like Jack- or better yet Jack looks exactly like him when he was a baby! It's so crazy! But I will say I wouldn't mind Jack growing up to look like Pat!

We have had some play dates with the kids lately. Today I had some girlfriends from law school over (Jodie & Amy) with their kids which was great! The kids are at an age now where I can talk to my friends and they play with all the kids- it is really great. Last weekend we had another play date with some old friends (Ali, Dana & Marylynn - Katie too but see her all the time :)). The kids had a blast!!! We celebrated Katie's bday over the weekend. Her basement was made for my kids! They could spend days down there- and still not play with all the toys- so many!!!!

It is getting easier to do more things with the kids too- Friendly's, running errands, church. The kids are becoming more independent too-and smart! They can do puzzles (thanks to mim) and they love their letters! Everyday I swear they do something new or say something new. It really is amazing.

The only thing that I wish they would understand is that Mommy needs her sleep! I don't know if they take after Mike or my sister Katie who for some reason don't cherish sleep like I do- but both Jack & Ellie still wake up some nights- and I can't figure out why or how to stop it. It is so hard for me to deal with- and if you know me, you know I need at least 8 hours of uninterrupted sleep- to be nice! That hasn't happened in a very long time!!

This weekend my sister Sally & I are headed to Fort Lauderdale to visit Uncle Tommy. We went last year with Katie, but with pregnancy she had to pass this year- but we will be going back next year and every year thereafter!

Here is hoping my next post is in February!

New Year More Fun!!!

So I must say the older the kids are getting the more fun we are having! Jack and Ellie both have their own personalities! We hosted thanksgiving at our new house and it went well. The turkey turned out great and everyone had a good time. We had leftovers for days!!!! (see pictures below)

We had professional pictures taken at our new house and they turned out great. The kids look so big and the yard looks amazing!!! We are LOVING our new house and so are the kids! We can not wait for the Spring/Summer and really be able to take advantage of the outside. We have met almost all the neighbors and have made friends with most. The kids love the quiet court and the other kids!!!

We had an amazing Christmas with the kids. We had our Elf Simon who the kids just loved!! They still ask for him now and it is so sad for me to have to explain Christmas is over! The kids loved opening presents!!! The kids made Christmas so much fun!!!

The are getting smarter and smarter everyday. They amaze us with what they know! Mike and I are constantly talking about all the new things they are saying and doing. It also amazes us how much they remember. It is amazing!

We have been doing more and more play dates with my sisters and friends- and the kids love it!!!! It is so great to see all the kids together and watch them play! We have many more scheduled already!!

Mark and Laura stayed with us the weekend after Christmas and the kid loved it! It was so great to see them and wish we could do that more often.

I am really looking forward to this year and watching the kids grow! So much to look forward too!!
